Jason has grown up surrounded by their parents and their creative fields. Inspired by Jason’s mother’s dedication to capturing and sharing moments through photo collages & their father’s love for drawing, Jason was encouraged to be creative at a young age by visiting museums, art galleries, and other exhibitions their mother took them to whenever possible.
During their early youth, while finishing high school, Jason took the time to create their first Brand, SARSKILD. The concept came from learning Swedish, inspired by the decade’s influence of YouTubers. While looking for inspiration, the brand’s unique name came to fruition to start a conversation about its uniqueness.
Special, just like you, captured the brand's translation and embroidery philosophy with how each garment would be truly unique in its craftsmanship. The clothing brand started with one jumper and started to build after it’s initial success and concepts. Garments were sold in Perth with local word of mouth and then started to expand through its social media channels and dedication to market stalls.
Through partnerships and organising promotions, the artist was able to achieve success in the early career of Wisdom Kaye with a surprise post centred around the brand, driving orders and exposure to its customers internationally from Wisdom’s eager hunger for style audience.
During this time, Jason was completing their Diploma of Applied Fashion & Visual Merchandising in Perth & designing their Art of Intimidation final year collection for their final project while also supporting their brand.
The brand completed 2 collections, such as The Bedroom Collection & Atelier Storefront Collection, & their core items such as the highly successful Sunset Hoodie & 80’s Jumper, which were highly adored by it’s hand embroidered nature. Jason also had items in shared exhibitions with their upcycled items such as Else. & Bazaar garments.
After a slow decline in creative passion & financial strain from different impacts, Jason took a slow disinterest in fashion and started to move away from creative artwork, collections and online store presence.
In 2024, Jason took the opportunity to travel solo to Europe. After being fearful about travelling, Jason was able to recapture the excitement and love for Art, Movement & Fashion. They were also picked up by a fashion house to have their work shown to the hiring manager of the atelier & to be kept on file.
While returning back home, Jason took a higher interest in supporting community functions, and its impact not only for Dior - Jason, but for the community surrounding them. Reflecting back on their youth, they found Ballroom to be a massive part of their life and growth within their desire to understand their femininity. This influence of creating impactful events was another avenue for creating a third space to be inside of for others needing it. Focused on investing time and energy into building community efforts, Jason was able to use the funds obtained from these events to help support transitioning efforts for close community members and raise funds for services and essential spaces and needs required for the community.
This newfound journey was able to invite Dior into new spaces, events and curated spaces to showcase movement, production and artistic talent. From here, Jason has been able to expand on their portfolio of talents and develop new partnerships with producers, venue managers, technicians and entertainment artists within the Perth Community. These new skill sets were strengthened with the position of working as a Box Office ticketing officer with Fringe World, which held important key assets with producers, artists and key personnel working within the season.
After years of saving, dedication, planning and visa processing, Jason has now been able to successfully move to London, UK, in April 2026 independently.
Jason hopes to use this newfound time in London to explore Europe & the chances of growing their art career & being able to be a part of teams dedicated to bringing works to life while also dedicating time to continue their process in portfolio development.
During the time in London, Jason hopes to achieve at least one exhibition dedicated to their time in London, showcasing a project or a mix of media created in London in 2027/28
