Bring The Heat
The Rechabite Main Hall - Perth, Australia
Bring The Heat - Fundraiser was a moment to celebrate our Boorloo Ballroom Community with a dedicated fundraiser within our city. The feedback from Dior’s previous event, ‘Club Nasty ’, was received strongly by the venue’s function manager, that a request to return on behalf of the venue allowed us to host one of the city’s largest transgender/queer-focused fundraisers for the year.
Creative direction for marketing and storytelling allowed our event to obtain a 46% increase in attendance from our debut without paid marketing. Our most powerful marketing material focused on the efforts of our community to spread the word to other queer and platonic allies to ensure the space was still tightly monitored.
With an incredible project to focus on and have a high attendance, we were able to capture over $7,000 AUD in Fundraising Donations for the scene obtained from ticket sales, donations and fundraising efforts. This was possible by connecting with local communities and businesses to support the event and positioning the partnership to fit both parties & community values.
Club Nasty
The Rechabite Main Hall - Perth, Australia
Club Nasty was the debut start to capturing and connecting community, environment, culture & introducing myself within the event curation world. Ballroom has been a huge part of Jason’s life, or should I say Dior’s [Artists’ Alias] life, since 2020. Club Nasty was a gift back to the community. [More information can be found in the Artist’s About Section]
The concept for Club Nasty was to bring world’s together. Club Nasty was another oppertunity for Queer, &/or BIPOC individuals to find each other and celebrate in the same light together.
Developing this event was structured on learning it’s core intrigitaty, obligations and history. Through dedication and checking with creditable reliable members of community, the event was able to have a strong foundation built to deliver a stronger than ever before debut
The event’s success took an incrediable turn as the orgional planned space was booked at capacity within days of it’s release. This effect caused the venue to negoitate a venue change to be able to use the Main Hall of The Rechabite to support it’s demand. This was an incrediable achievement before even opening our doors.
The Doll House
The Rechabite Main Hall - Perth, Australia
The Doll House was a challenge that, in my early career in event producing, I am beyond proud to say I was able to do. The event was a celebration of Trans-Excellence and a moment to capture and celebrate our city’s transgender community.
Competing with large-scale events happening across the weekends in November to celebrate Pride. We were challenged with patrons deciding which event to attend. This event was more of a trial and test event to see what we could do to ensure the event stood out. This came down to a change in promotional material being done in 3D and capturing the essence of who the event was for.
For this DJ Venue takeover, the idea expanded to have artists from over east to help be a part of the event. This was the first time having to liaise with agents and artists directly, ensuring to present a strong concept and promoting the event and having the event coincide with the artists performing.
Forecasting projected results, budgeting, and understanding a detailed logical approach to point detail ensured all parts of the pre & post show were smoothly combed through to ensure all parts moved well. This included artist transport across the country, and accommodation requests & requirements were fulfilled while also negotiating contracts and agreements for the event for both parties.
The strongest asset towards the event producer and artists, agents and venues was consistent open communication, timeline structuring, budgeting guidelines, transparency, and adjusting to last-minute changes optimistically.
The event was and will always be my proudest achievement due to the feedback from patrons, artists & partners, but mostly from the attendees who took a chance on an event entirely dedicated to them.
